As you’ve probably heard, the Child Tax Credit is providing an important boost to Hawaiʻi families through its advance monthly payments of up to $300/child. But around 10% of eligible families aren’t getting the Child Tax Credit because they haven’t filed federal taxes.
On Wednesday, October 20, from 3:30-4:30 pm, we’re hosting a special training about becoming a Child Tax Credit Navigator. You’ll learn how to help families use a simplified tax filing portal and start getting Child Tax Credit payments. Direct outreach from community organizations is critical to ensuring all eligible families receive this significant benefit.
This free training is specifically organized for Hawaiʻi organizations and will be run by Code For America, which created the simplified tax filing website. The training will be recorded, and the recording will be sent to everyone who registers.
