Aloha Kualapuu Families and Staff —
I have been notified by the Hawaii Department of Health this afternoon that we have had additional households that have positive covid cases. As a result, three (3) children are considered close contacts. The children are in quarantine as directed by the DOH. The impacted homeroom teachers and families have been notified via our SchoolMessenger system. The classmates of these children are NOT considered close contacts.
Also, Kualapuu will remain open at this time. If there are further developments, you will be notified.
Our school has implemented the recommended Covid mitigation of staying home when sick, distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks. We also keep our students in their homeroom pods.
In the meantime, please monitor your child’s health. Contact your health care provider, if necessary, especially if your child is showing symptoms.
