Aloha Kualapuu Staff and Families — I have been notified by the Hawaii Department of Health this morning, Thursday, April 22nd, that Kualapuu school has one (1) student that has been identified as a “close contact” to a positive covid case outside of school.  The student is under mandatory quarantine.
I have notified the teacher of this student.  The school will also be reaching out to the families of  students in the identified class.
School will continue to remain open as we have maintained our safety measures of hand washing, distancing, face coverings, ventilation, and staying home if a person is showing symptoms.  Per DOH guidance, closing the school is not necessary.
We have today and tomorrow before the weekend.  Please help us by reminding your child to keep their masks on and keep their distance, even from friends as best as possible.  Let us all keep vigilant and pray for the recovery and health of our friends, families, and community.  If there are further updates or any other information, you will be notified.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Lydia Trinidad at [email protected] or Health Aide Nohea Deponte at [email protected].
