Hawai’i schools need more certified teachers. In order to meet this challenge, the University of Hawai’i College of Education is planning a new distance-learning pilot program for bachelor’s degrees and teaching certificates on Molokai.  In this program, those who enroll would be able to remain on island while earning their diplomas and certifications from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa.  The Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Nathan Murata, will be visiting Molokai on Wednesday, May 17 to discuss this proposed program with anyone who is interested in earning a teaching degree.
