Papel Picados Mexican Folk Art Papel picado is a traditional folk art from Mexico that involves cutting out intricate patterns on colorful tissue paper. The student created their own very impressive papel picado designs.
What is happening in the art room? October 22, 2018 We are learning about Dia de Los Muertos ( Day of the Dead) In Mexico, Dia de Los Muertos is a National holiday celebrated on Nov. 1. The holiday focuses on remembering loved ones who have died. A common symbol of the holiday are calacas and calaveras (skeletons and skulls), which appear everywhere during the holiday.
