Aloha Families — The Annual Whale Watch from the Pacific Whale Foundation is scheduled for Friday, January 12th.

Two permission forms have been sent home.  (The permission/waiver forms are attached to this email.)

  • Keiki Waiver from PWF
  • Bus Transportation Form
  • (Option) Donation of $1.00 for each student.  Please attach your child’s donation to the permission forms.  (A donation of $1.00 per child will help with bus transportation cost, but will not affect participation in any way.)
  • Attached Forms:  KEIKI WHALEWATCH Student Waiver Form – updated December 2023.pdf ; Bus Permissioin Form WHALE WATCH Jan 2024.pdf
  • Because the Whale Watch is during the 1st week when we return to school, we want student permission forms THIS WEEK, no later than Wednesday, Dec 20th.  This will give us time to follow up with any students who are not participating or forgot to turn in forms.

Also, Homeroom Teachers will be responsible for selecting the chaperones for each class.  Each class has limited space for chaperones.  Criteria for chaperones are those volunteers who have the following skills/expertise – First aid/CPR trainers, Fire, Police, and First Responders, Life Guard Certified etc.  Volunteers are expected to attend to ALL CHILDREN, not only their own children.

The students will be divided into 4 groups.  The anticipated schedule is as follows.
  • Group 1 (8:30-9:45) :  Nakayama, Hyde, Joao (All Kindergarten)
  • Group 2 (10:00-11:15): Han 6, Pa-Kala 5, Duvauchelle 3, Kanuha 2, Cummings 3, Nip (PreK)
