Dear Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s): (Please read carefully!)

There are some important BUS TRANSPORTATION changes happening this school year:

1.  There will be NO grace period at the start of the school year. Please ensure child knows that they are required to show their bus pass to the driver. Students who do not show a valid bus will be reported to the school upon arrival and/or may be denied a ride in the future. Please plan accordingly.

IMPORTANT:  So even on the 1st day of school, August 8th, 2023, if a student does not have a bus application submitted, the student will be denied bus transportation to go home, and the parent/guardian will need to arrange for pick up after school.  (Special note:  For the morning pick up, Bus Drivers are instructed to pick up students who are waiting at the designated bus stop even if the student does not have a bus pass.)

2.  ALL bus pass applications are valid for ONE quarter only. This is for both paid and free-status riders. You will now NEED to fill out an application EACH QUARTER. Please complete application and payments in a timely manner, at the school office.  (Note:  We cannot accept payments for the year.)  Applications and Payments can only be processed during the following periods:

Q1: July 17, 2023 – August 31, 2023
Q2: September 18, 2023 – October 31, 2023
Q3: November 27, 2023 – January 31, 2024
Q4: February 19, 2024 – April 30, 2024

Bus Fares: Quarterly Round Trip $72 (AM & PM)
Quarterly One Way $36 (AM Only or PM Only)
      Replacement Bus Pass $5

3.  Bus Applications are now available at Kualapu’u School office. You must come to school to pick up application.  Copies of applications are not acceptable.

4.  Discretionary Passes and coupons, and day to day passes are discontinued.  (For example,  children are not allowed to catch the bus to ride to grandma’s house for the day.  So please plan accordingly, and keep your emergency contacts updated.)

5.  Space Available Basis(CS-101): Families may apply, however there is a 6-8 week processing period. Student may not ride until approved. Please plan your child’s transportation accordingly
